FUN STUFF TO DO IN ORLANDO

There are tons of fun things to do in the Orlando area. We’ve listed a few of our favorites.

Universal Studios

(Universal Studios is a quick, five-minute walk from the Hard Rock Hotel or you can take the water taxi or shuttle from any of the other on-site hotels)

This is your chance to go behind the scenes and experience the action in some unforgettable movies at this movie and TV based theme park. Make sure you check out:

  • The Revenge of the Mummy (a creepy, indoor roller coaster that we can’t get enough of)
  • Hollywood Rip Ride Rocket roller coaster (where you pick your own soundtrack and can even make a music video)
  • The Simpsons Ride (and the rest of Springfield)
  • Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts (an amazing ride even if you’re not a huge Harry Potter fan)

When you’re done, you can take the Hogwarts Express from Universal Studios to Islands of Adventure (assuming you get a park-hopper pass).

Universal’s Islands of Adventure

(Islands of Adventure is just a ten-minute walk from the Hard Rock Hotel or you can take the water taxi or shuttle from any of the other on-site hotels)

Take a tour of the “islands” where myths, legends, comic books, cartoons, and movies come to life. Islands of Adventure has some amazing rides, such as:

  • The Incredible Hulk Coaster
  • Dragon Challenge (make sure you ride both of the dueling dragons)
  • Doctor Doom’s Fearfall
  • The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man
  • Skull Island: Reign of Kong

And, if you don’t mind getting wet (and we mean really wet), we recommend Jurassic Park River Adventure and Popeye and Bluto’s Bilge-Rat Barges.

CityWalk

(Universal’s CityWalk is a quick, five-minute walk from the Hard Rock Hotel or you can take the water taxi or shuttle from any of the other on-site hotels)

Restaurants. Shopping. Movies. Nightlife. It’s all in one place. In the evening, adults should check out Red Coconut Club, CityWalk’s Rising Star (karaoke), and the groove. If you are looking for something more family-friendly, CityWalk also has mini-golf and a movie theater.
